New Zealand Frontier Firms: A Capabilities-Based Perspective
September 4, 2020
The New Zealand Productivity Commission requested top international thinkers at the BRG Institute to develop a report explaining how boards with strong dynamic capabilities can help firms innovate and thrive in a challenging and deeply uncertain environment. Dynamic capabilities enable forward-looking, strategic decisions about why and what a firm does. Firms with strong dynamic and managerial capabilities are more resilient and more productive, allowing them to pay higher wages and support innovative cultures.
David Teece and Kieran Brown of the BRG Institute authored the report, which may be read here:
The authors wish to acknowledge the contributions of Greg Linden (UC Berkeley) and Phil Alves (BRG) to the development of the report.
